| It is obviously a statue, and a stone statue of a lion. Locally it is called the Stone Lion. The main application of this statue comes when somebody dies. Relations make a stone lion and put on his tomb to commemorate his grandeur. The more he is brave, elder and famous, the larger is the statue. Visiting cemeteries around Esfahan you will still see plenty of stone lions, but all old and ancient. This one was captured in Esfahan city and very near Zayandeh Rood which is more decorative than commemorative.A lady in her black Dress is talking to her friend while lending her back to the stone lion. |
