[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Iranian Bazaars (Persian Markets) are very old structures and can be seen in almost all of the old cities
and towns of Iran. Most of them are still in function.
A bazaar consists of a set of roofed stores along with passageways and corridors as well as
caravansaries, Saras, Timchehs, etc. There are also other public services like bathhouses, schools and
mosques and so on in the same complex to satisfy various needs of the people inside bazaars.
People belonging to different walks of life were living near or far from bazaars. Bazaars were either too
live or too dead quarters of a city at various times or occasions.
People of the same guild have to have their shops next to each other to prevent any disturbances or add
to their security.

The bazaar of Nain dates back to Safavi era (almost 400 years ago) and is very big . It has been too live
because of its nearness to the capital of Iran (Esfahan) at that time. But nowadays ,for economical
reasons , its not much in function and mostly is used as a tourist place.

The B&W suits great to this shot Dear Atousha. I like a lot the DOF and the sharpness. Very nice geometry.

Good choice of B&W. And yes it seem very quiet and silent. Happy to see a bazar without any tourist :)

This bazaar is so empty, you probably took the photo a Friday ?
I like the perspective, it is true that sometimes bazaars can have an silent and empty feel like that, anyway I think this B&W photo is beautiful.

very good picture, I like it so much, the arhes and the doors are amazing and the B&W give it a mistic place, plus the ligth in the background of this path. I like your country has very much history, I like the food nd music, I hope some day will visiti it.

Hi Atousa,
The perspective and depth in this shot is great. I also love the details and textures on the walls and door and the light filtering in is lovely. Good choice for a black and white too.
