Photographer’s Note
Another oldie from 1970. This shows some busy coppersmiths and an idle boy outside their workshop in a bazaar area of Isfahan in central Iran. The picture was taken in July 1970 and was scanned from an Agfa Color slide.

Once again Gert!
It's hard to belive that those pictures are almost 40 years of age, and that they are in such good quality both in color and in sharpness. it's a true treasure yuo are sitting on.
And I like craftmanship on picture ( a bit of the Zorn heredity)

Hi Gert, This one works for me, with the man closest drawing the viewer into the activity in the BG. Nice one. Cheers, Steve

Hej Gert
I like these moments from the past, even if digital photography makes us look for technical perfection, noiseless images and such nasty little things ;-) I like these old photos even more if one considers that often more thinking is involved when shooting analogue(well, at least in my case "digital" results in "shoot much, than try to select something useful from this heap" approach. Which makes me wonder, how many photos did you make daily when you were at work abroad?
But let's get back to business. Good documentary shot. Nice composition. The man on the left is a strong motive here, the boy nicely closes the group. Did they notice you taking a picture?
Regards
Joanna

Hello Gert
The colours have been well retained in this Agfa slide and once again I see no evidence of stratches or fungi. A little over-exposed to the right but otherwise another very interesting street scene. TFS, Marlene

Hej Gert,
you have so many scanned photos that I'm afraid I have missed too many of them!
For such an old photo the quality of scanning is very good: everything is seen very well (even the man with a hammer (it is a hammer?) in the middle :)
I like the composition very much, and that boy who is looking at you lazily and almost indifferently (the others don't seem to bother about the photographer!) is a nice addition (if I may use this word) to the whole quiet, peaceful "working" atmosphere of this scene.
Kind regards,
Elena

Hej Gert,
Like many others here on TE i like your oldies very much. It`s interesting how times have changed environments and daily life. In this case I think it looks pretty much the same now as when this picture was taken. Hopefully i will find out in a near future, because Iran is high on my travel list. "Learning about the world through photography" an excellent description of this photo !
Ha en trevlig helg.
Boa
