One of a fascinating villages in Iran has to be Abyaneh.
Most of what remained intact from the ravages of time and invading armies dates to the Safavid period (1502-1722).
Most of the inhabitants were Zoroastrians, but later converted to Islam,The Zoroastrian population of the village mingles happily with the Muslim inhabitants, keeping to their customs and observing their traditions.
This is third in the serie.

Je suis profondément désolé pour les victimes du tremblement de Terre en Iran.
Cette composition est magnifique; c'est une scène très vivante qui baigne dans un joli éclairage latéral.
Très bon travail.
I am deeply sorry for the victims of the earthquake in Iran....
This composition is splendid; it is a very alive scene which bathes in a pretty side lighting. Very good work.

Well composed picture. The main figure is very clearly depicted by her expression. Your exposure timing is perfect to make her face get the best clarity. Well done.

Hi Mohammad. A wonderful moment of chit-chat you found with the three ladies underneath the tree. The strong light was well mastered, and again the variety of colors and decor to be found in their traditional clothes is very nice to see.
jrzufferey (7301) 2005-02-22 16:36
Belle capture que ce conseil des femmes, de quoi parlent-elles ?? Des cultures, du ménage ou...? Amitié/jr

Your photo is an excellent photo.
cool_krishna (465) 2005-02-22 23:54
Mohammad, this one is the best of the series till now for me. A very nicely composed shot capturing the feel of this group of lively ladies in conversation. I like the way the old lady is in an animated expression saying something to the others. also the way sun light is filtering through the tree branches to the groups adds to the picture. My only wish here would be if the picture was taken from a little right so that we could see the face of the third woman as well, as well as maybe a little portion of the village.
Not to forget the nice note.
arnabchat (7233) 2005-02-23 0:54
Very good. I like the talking and gossipping you capture here. women seem to have this habit everywhere! :)
PS: indeed a big disaster in Iran yesterday.

I'm sorry to see the news about the earthquake is worsening:
Re your upload: Superb sharpness, contrast, graphism & dof. I like the intimate huddle of the 3 women in deep conversation, who are well placed in the frame. Good shot!
jmdaoudal (82) 2005-02-23 3:34
The serie is excellent.
Here a smile for the "commères", in french it is the eldest ladies talking and talking all day about the other people in the village.
This picture is the same in the whole world from village (village people :)))
Great portrait from this suposed activity.
The dresses are still interesting too.
Dionysos (1234) 2005-02-23 3:45

oochappan (16981) 2005-02-23 8:00
What a perfect action shot, you can hear them talking, sitting close together, listen to the latest stories, the story told here is in the center of your photo and makes it so strong, Mohammad !
My symphatie for the victims of the earthquake, I hope that you and all your family didn't suffer.
Steft (5975) 2005-02-23 8:22
I wonder what they are talking about...
Nice photo, the light darkness contrasts are very good. I like their expressions, you really can see that there is interaction here.

papagolf21 (86730) 2005-02-23 14:51
antti (0) 2005-02-24 5:09
Oh, this is very compact action of people having intensive conversation. Excellent use of light and shadows, like old good painters made their works hundreds years ago. Rembrant etc. Beautiful colors. What to say, so many have appreciated your work, I`m happy for you !
sn00zie (2384) 2005-02-24 9:48

Hanssie (10403) 2005-02-24 14:49
S u p e r b !
The expression of the talking woman and the other women listening to her amazing words, because it must be an amazing story if I see her face here, as said, superb !
Nice little note too !
(Hi, my friend, nice to see you...)
mumek (20202) 2005-02-24 16:39
You used a light perfectly. Fantastic street scene. Very good details and colors. Super shot.
Janice (4403) 2005-02-24 22:42
I love this scene Mohammad - gossip time in the village. So natural, and I especially like the colourful clothes. Great showing, thank you.
pamastro (7290) 2005-02-25 1:41
It's interesting to see an active community of Zoroastrians. It's a very interesting religion that seems to have common traits with later Judaism, Christianity and Islam. I like this one in the series. The active moment is most strongly captured here. I like how they seem to be engaged in a loud discussion. Friendly but just loud. The woman on the right seems to be trying to make some point clear, perhaps as a result of them being hard of hearing. The one she is speaking to is patiently listening and the one in the back seems about to jump in to add something the speaker may have forgotten. The colors and dof are very well managed. And you were in the right spot at the right moment for this very active capture. I can almost hear them talking.
kourosh (2375) 2005-02-28 5:25
this is really cool. the expressions are wonderful and the environment and dresses add so much to the feel of the shot. great work!
msadventure (632) 2005-06-02 21:37
You already have 80 points and I give you another 2! Well deserved. What a great moment you captured here. The ages of these ladies and juicy gossip they are sharing, the light upon them, the colors of their attires all make this composition one of a kind!
marian (2) 2005-09-23 23:32
