I must say about taking permission from the people in my shots, specially in this serie about Abyaneh.
the day that I took the shots was a traditional Islamic lamentation days (two days) which called "Taasoo'aa" and "Ashooraa" and it's referred to "Emam Hosein" who was one of a respectful leaders(Third leader) of Islam After "Mohammad" messenger of the GOD.
I will try to say more about this days in future. All of the Iranian love "Emam Hosein" and those days are about his martyrdom.
And,in those days,in Abyaneh, the poeple of the village wear their beautiful and colorful traditional dresses which are very lively, but almost in all of the cities in Iran, people wear black or dark dresses in those two days.
it's one of an interesting attractions in Abyaneh.
In those days as I said, thousands tourists visit the village,...very busy, full of poeple, and all want to see quality of their sad ceremony, and all are with a camera or a handycam!!!All the people!
How can I take permission in that busy situation?!it was a same situation for all,...
anyway,...my purpose is clear,it's about Abyaneh with all subjects in it,with respect to the people in my shots who I hope forgive me.

I like this one too. The expressions on the faces are interesting. The blue jeans on the younger woman in the middle of this traditional celebration is also fascinating. Nice shot, like the colors, too

A very busy and tight frame Mohammad,It looks every body is concentrating in their own task.Lady in black is more interesting here.. seems wanted to get rid of sunlight.

Hi Mohammad, You have made a very attractive introduction to your story. I cannot wait to have all rest of them…
The tradition and the serious environment can be clearly seen in this picture. With many tourists around, they did very good “acting”. Even if the picture has not shown their eyes, for some reason, I feel their focuses were on the four fingers at the bottom right. I am glad you have kept the fingers. They brought some humor in the heavy environment.

Very intimate daily life shot, almost a multi-portrait. Interesting contemplation on taking candid shots, often discussed on the site, but I thinkI agree with the gerneral view you express here.

Another interesting and colorful scene from the streets of Abyaneh, Mohammad. Good handling of the strong light, and nice layered alignment of the people in the scene, with the two women as the main characters in front, the other two women standing by the wall, and the old man walking in the background. The car window is a little bit of a distraction, but the overall composition and framing is very well done.

Very nice shot and good note! I like the expressions you captured...the fact that they don't see you makes it more authentical. The girl on the left is beautiful. I am sure they forgive you, Mohammad!
All the best,

Mohammad, Abyaneh seems to be fascinating place. Such interesting history.
I like this picture. Inspite of featuring this very beautiful lady (in jeans) this picture has an air of sadness in it. I think the sun is a bit too bright at this point of time, maybe with fading lights in the evening, the sadness would be more pronounced. Take care Mohammad.

Much more than the composition, there is the delicacy of the communication in the note. I like there much the expression of a great wisdom in the expression.
Also photography is in this direction, a normal attitude, information on fest'sdress, in contrast with the more austere veil and the darker suit from the young woman of left. The position of the modeles on the bottom of villager is interesting.
I like it
A the hour or I write these lines, I learn that a new earthquake has just touched Iran. I have a friendly thought for you and your country, and feel sorry for this.
PixelTerror (0) 2005-02-22 3:27
an interesting photo with amazing expressions, I can't determine exactly what it is, sadness, boredom, ... ?
Story is interesting too and I can understand well your concerns, I do not like much to shoot at people either, unless they participate in some joyful and demonstrative event, also in some countries with strong believing people do not like it at all and this must be respected.
A I heard today in the news that your country has been hit by yet another earthquate, I'd like to express my sympathy through you to the people of Iran.
Have a nice day,
ChrisJ (100112) 2005-02-22 3:32
Are you ok after the earthquake?
If you are, the 5 people are well arranged around the centre of the frame. Good sharpness & color, & an excellent slice of daily life from this part of the world. The clothing is the same as in Islamic parts of Malaysia & Indonesia, but the patterns & designs are very different. Thanks for sharing, & let us know if you're ok, please?
kourosh (2375) 2005-02-22 5:40
Although thisis a bit out of focus, I like this composition a lot more than your previous shot. Here it depicts two different conversations, one in foreground and one in the back. like the pinkish background too. well done!

A superb composition here Mohammad. I really love the contrasts between the two women, one is in black clothes, the other is colorfull, one is old, one is young.

Hi Mohammad! Hope you're ok despite the earthquake. Looking at your photo, I just can't help but wonder about those affected by the earthquake. You captured a great daily shot here, full of colors and very lively. Take care! rgds.

Most I like in this shot, that those people behave so naturally - like they do not notice you. Very interesting background color. People look like quite serious, thoughtless, even there back in their conversation. Yes it can be seen, they have dressed their bests. Very interesting to study all these details. Your compose is good. Thank you for this daily life view there, Mohammed.
igorb (758) 2005-02-22 10:04
What to say and not to be repeated...
(besade excellent note,great compo,colours...)
well, the beauty of the girl is like a pick of the ice berg hiden in the deep water...hardly to spot it ,on purpose...
Thanks for this shot.

I know the feeling of taking photos at the street and not asking of permission - This fine capture could not harm anybody - your showing this fine dressed group of people in an very fine way - thanks Mohammad for this and the note to explain - I keep learing about other cultures and tradition - I must try to show something similar from here

Hi Mohammad! A quite intimist shot in your excellent serie about Abyaneh. I like the scene in two parts. Nice portraits including their close surroundings. The discussion between the three characters in the back still adds life to the scene. Very well done, and you handled very well the strong lighting. Thanks for sharing!
sn00zie (2384) 2005-02-23 9:04
