Paphos lighthouse & Amphitheater

Near the modern Paphos lighthouse is sited a complex of ancient buildings, including a Roman Odeon, built in the 2nd century AD, which has been restored and is now used for summer orchestral and stage performances. The Odeon was the focus of the ancient city centre, of which some ruins still remain in the area.

South of the Odeon are the remnants of the Roman Temple of Asclepius, the God of Medicine, and north of the lighthouse are the ruins of the ancient town walls.

Hello Stephen,
I used to read photography guides. The books tell and describe how to produce effective photos. Today, I see one of the examples delivered by you. To me it a perfect manifestation of vsarious elements. Your choosen point of view is magnificent, in contains all the main subjects, supporting subjects, colous, lines, contrast, a very cooperating sky- Real clean Sir.
i love all these elements plus the added values of beautiful poppies , daisies and green green grass.
Lovely presentation, well thought photo and most of all your manifestion of photographic skills.

Regasrds,
Foozi

Hi Stephen,
I'm really enjoying your images from your recent trip to Cyprus - I hope you have a few more despite your camera accident.

I dont know how you do to be always at the right time to get the shot (guess must be patience and perceverence). Anyway, you seam to always have skies or dramatic landscape, often both. Must have been real good planning to get there when its all flowery. Nice spring feeling!

Hello Stephen,
wonderful image with diagonals of flowers that I consider to be flowers of summer (the start of July in my country). Perfect composition as usual.
Best regards
Romana

Hi Stephen, I like all your recent Cyprus photos, and this one is possibly my favourite. A simple scene, but composed with great attention to detail. Lovely colours in the fragile wildflowers. I like this one also for sentimental reasons, b/c I remember sitting at this spot 10 years ago, while travelling with a tent & bicycle. Great stuff!
Regards,
Ryno
