The Church of Profitis Ilias is situated on a hill in Protaras. It is said to take 156 steps to climb up to the hilltop church. Profitis Ilias offers stunning views of Protaras and its surroundings. There are two wish trees by the church and visitors tie pieces of cloths or ribbons to one of the branches. The walls and the ceiling of the little church are decorated with vivid biblical images and if you visit the hilltop in the late evening you may experience a breathtaking sunset over Protaras...

Like Aphrodite in person, the human shape is silhouetted against the doorframe and it is really this person who makes this composition.
Profitis sounds otherwise like a pleasing place well worth a visit.
I wish you a very happy new year
