Photographer’s Note

Nicosia (lefkoşa in turkish, lefkosia in greek) is the capitol of cyprus and the biggest city on the island.
The center of nicosia, enclosed by 16th century venetian walls, is dotted with many mediaeval buildings preserving the nostalgic atmosphere of years past, yet this old heart is split in two by the green line, dividing the capital into two sectors; greek and turkish.
This one is from the turkish sector. An open window in the ayluka (ayios lucas) neighbourhood.
God knows what those slippers are doing there!

Une vue de fenètre sans chat et un rideau épris de liberté voici qui est original. Si on ajoute de belles couleurs et une bonne définition on a là les ingrédients d'une belle image. Bravo.

Hola korkut...what a decisive moment...love the "figure" created by the wind swept curtain...and ahh those slippers would they not be for the "lover" to escape through the open window...you see korkut your photo is full of mystery...and gets the mind working...

J'aime ce rideau qui fait comme les voiles d'un bateau pour emmener la maison en voyage. Il y a beaucoup de poésie dans ce cliché. Les couleurs sont douces et en harmonie.

Wonderful note to accompany a spectacular photo. It brings to mind, "You have only to observe, and ponder that the commonplace becomes wondrous, and the wondrous commonplace." What is so exceptional about this picture ? It is a very common scene. Isn't it ?
