Photographer’s Note
Omodhos (Greek: Όμοδος) is a small village north of Limassol, on Troodos mountain. It is about 35 kilometres (26 miles) from Limassol, 80 km from Nicosia and 7 km from Platres. Omodhos is considered to be one of the best wine producing villages in Cyprus. The first view you get when you arrive in Omodhos is of its square which is the center of activity of the village. There you can find the coffee shops, tavernas, and souvenir shops. The village consists of many narrow streets where tradionally build stone houses are found. At Omodhos you will find one of the most famous churhes of Cyprus dedicated to the Holy Cross (Timios Stavros). Omodhos is also famous for its aromatic bread and "koullouri" which resembles a big donut!
The photo was taken on a sunny day in May in one of the many winding alleys of Omodhos.
