Kolossi Castle Photo

Photographer’s Note

This inposant fortress was build by the knights of the Order of Saint John around the 13th century. In the cave there are some cisterns mostly to collect the rain water and in the upper rooms the soldiers were lodged.
Besides the inhabitants did also sugar processing which was cultivated in large plantations in the region. Remainings of a sugar factory are located to the east of the castle.

Les arbres cadrent bien le château. La prise de vue permet de distinguer les détails et les couleurs de l'architecture du château de Kolossi. Ce neau ciel bleu envoie une lumière qui embellie les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.
