Photographer’s Note

History of Curium
Located on the Akrotiri Peninsula in the south of Cyprus, just to the west of Limassol on the road to Paphos, is the ancient town of Kourion which has a Roman amphitheatre that was built at the end of the 2nd c. AD during the hellenistic period, and has a capacity of 3,500 spectators. In 1961, it was restored by the antiquities department and is now used for performances of plays, concerts and other cultural events.

The surrounding area is of scarce beauty!
