Photographer’s Note
As part of the November the 5th celebrations, even here on Cyprus, we have a huge bonfire and fireworks, remembering the attempt to destroy Parliment by Guy Faulkes and his conspiritors.
Photo was taken from about 400 meters from the bonfire, the spectators were about 100 meters from it. I used a tripod as a monopod with the IS switched on.

i like the fiery colors illuminating the dark of night, you see intensity of the fire with different colors of the flame, and dof is good, you can see details from within the flame. in a way it looks like an abstract if you look long enough you see different forms and shapes, TFS

Hi Piers
Beautiful bonfire. The corwds creates such good silhoutte to the fire and the evening sky provided all the essential and fiery colors to the fire.
Great job, Piers.

Bonjour Piers,
une composition originale, des paramètres bien adaptés à ce genre de photo, une vitesse d'obturation suffisement rapide pour bien figer les flammes.
Les spectateurs ajoutent de la vie à la scène.
Bien vu.
Daniel.

Quite dramatic Piers. It almost looks to me like the fires of Hell.. The forms of the onlookers in the foreground, provides a very nice contrast.
