Photographers Note
Larnaca, ancient Kition, is historically connected with three important personalities of the ancient world: the Stoic philosopher Zeno (who was born here), the Athenian general Kimon (who died here while fighting against the Persians for the freedom of Cyprus), and Saint Lazarus, the friend of Christ, who, being persecuted, left Judea and came to Cyprus where he lived the rest of his life as the first bishop of Kition. The coming of Saint Lazarus to Kition is indicated by relative local traditions and, chiefly, by the ancient and magnificent byzantine church which is built over his tomb. This church, is the most important monument of Larnaca and, at the same time, one of the most important pilgrimages in Cyprus...

Hello Korkut!
They must be tourists. Very nice atmosphere of ancient city. I like strong contrast of this photo. Wonderful play of sun and shadows. They are deep but all details and all interesting factures of the wall are very good visible.

Bu bakımdan Raphael'in "Atina Okulu"nu çağrıştırdı.

Hi, Korkut.
I like this kind of street scenes with a scene wich happens in a "good POV" : architecture is very well framed here, and people well placed. Difficult light but you managed it quite well.
Best wishes. Grazyna.

Selam sevgili Korkut,

Not da bol malumatli. Zeno'nu yazilarini ve hikayelerini iyi bilirim, fakat eski Kitionlu oldugunu hiç bilmezdim. Muhtesem bir fotograf olmus.
Güzel bir hafta sonu dilerim,
Bülent

Hi KOrkut,
the expression of the three exchanging the latest gossip is very well caught and well visible despite the shaded position. The definition of the walls is alsio very good. Well handled lightconditions and good tones. Perfect composition.

Merhaba Korkut,
Interesting to have the people at the beginning of the repeated arches perspective, works well to me, this photo probably looks better in BW with its strong contrasts that it would in color.
Have a nice day JY

Olá Korkut, I would say that this is a great place for debating philosophy, but they're problably updating the gossips ;-) The sun is strong and it must be very hot out there, but under the shade of historic arcades is cooler and peaceful... Beautiful light and perspective. I'm glad you didn't lighten up the image for the people, so I can enjoy more the stone textures on the pillars.
Cheers,
ric

Nice anthropocentric photo of daily life on Cyprus within a beautiful historical frame. I like especially the guy, he looks so athletic.

Hello Korkut,
Once again you were able to touch a sensitive chord of mine, the light and the long colonnade are all perfect, perhaps the right person could be removed from the group.

Your last four pictures that I didn't make critiques.
I don't know from were to start. One is better than the other.
This one with the perfect perspective and the silhouettes from the the people against the light, gave the perfect result, an artistic but the same time very informative result for the architectural of the concrete church.
Cheers
Kostas
