Photographer’s Note

The ISA Cultural Center is rigth of the Al-Fatih Mosque (the shadow in the front). It was opened in Sept 2008. I had waited more then half a hour for some people and took meanwhile some other pictures, but this morning nobody, no tourists are visting the mosque.

A very impressive building. I like the point of view. The tones are a little sombre but create an interesting mood. Very good clarity.

We see here clear the oriental architecture.
Also the palmtrees and shadows care for a good composition.

Very interesting to see this mosque without a soul :) It seems that a lot of designers like to use tall square blocks for the mosque building added with facade of arches and domes, I wonder why they do not use other more interesting forms and shapes.

Very attractive shot of showing the overall view of this architecture and blending the white color tone of the walls to the blue sky. I like the way you use the FG shadow in diagonal, adding a shade of darker grey.

very particular architecture. This place must be very beautiful. Your choice for the dark tones makes this more dramatic in my opinion. Very fine sharpness and well chosen angle. Good work!

Hi, Achim. An interesting example of Islamic architecture. The white building stands out well against the blue sky. Maybe I would have stepped a little forward to avoid the shadow in the foreground.

Bonjour Achim,
les lumières sont vraiment parfaites, quant aux couleurs, j'aime ce bleu profond pour le ciel. La zone d'ombre au premier plan n'est pas des plus esthétiques, je l'aurais coupée en recadrant en PP.
Une photo dans laquelle tu as su adoucir des lumières très dures.

A very interesting architecture and a clean and well balanced composition. In my monitor appears a bit too dark, maybe because of the polarizer plus a strong light contrast with the white facade of the building which probably affected the exposure meter. Anyway a good work.

Hi Achim,
This beautiful Middle Eastern architecture stands out brilliantly against the vivid blue desert sky.
The intricate lamppost and lovely palms make for a very interesting foreground to this fine image.
