At Țingvellir literally "Parliament Plains" the Alțing general assembly was established around 930. Major events in the history of Iceland have taken place at Țingvellir and therefore the place is held in high esteem by all Icelanders. Today Țingvellir is a protected national shrine.
Many Icelanders visit this place each and every year. And every foreigners visiting Iceland must not exclude Țingvellir from their places of visiting.
At Țingvellir you will see many types Nature. Like old lava covered with moss, many types of trees, rocks and many more... The autumn colors are quite beautiful.
This photo was taken to show the moss in context with the Țingvalla farm in the background.

The thumbnail does not do your photo justice. For one, I could not see the buildings or the water until I clicked on the photo. A strange and wonderful place you have there. Perhaps this might have looked better from a higher point of view, but I'm not sure that there was anything around to stand up on.
Also, in English, we apparently have no equivalent for the first letter of this place. How is it pronounced in English, if you can explain?
