Kerlingarfjoll, this barbarian name which sounds like a place from the Lord of the Rings (dixit cbrman) means "mountains of the witches".
Kerling = witch
Fjoll = mountains
Icelandic is a rather complicated language because the same word has many alternatives according to whether it is in single or plural. Moreover, it is necessary to hold account of the declinaison as in Latin or German. Thus fjall, fjell or fjoll indicate, all the three, the word mountain.
Here, we are in the heart of Iceland, in volcanic mountains rather old compound primarily of rhyolite where bubble the cauldrons of the famous witches. Undoubtedly the most spectacular place in Iceland (by good weather, obviously if not it is the hell).

Hi!
Nice picture from this interesting spot in Iceland.
Good colors and POV. I find good balance in the composition, with the valley as a diagonal and the mountains in a good position.

It could be an image from a science fiction movie. Two humans land on a planet which looks like earth, but it looks inhabited.

P.S. : J'y étais en juillet / août 1973 et c'était une station de ski d'été ; cela semble avoir beaucoup changé sur ce plan là !!!

Bonjour, France. Les contrastes sont excellents ici et les sommets de l'arrière-plan se détachent bien sur le ciel. La rivière crée une jolie perspective et le sgens qui marchent sur la rive donnent l'échelle du paysage. Intéressant aussi de voir la langue du glacier qui vient mourir pratiquement au bord de la rivière.

Superbe photo avec un excellent cadrage, une belle netteté et des couleurs incroyables. Ces marcheurs (il fait assez chaud en Islande pour se promener torse nu ?!!!) nous invitent à les suivre dans cette vallée.

Bonjour France,
Une très belle image de ce lieu magnifique. La composition est vraiment impeccable et les promeneyrs sont idéalement placés pour attirer l'oeil et lui montrer le chemin. Le jeu d'ombres et de lumière créé par les nuages sur les montagnes au fond est magnifique. Une image que tu aurais pu appeller "Life on Mars" tellement se paysage semble irréel ! C'est vraiment une bonne publicité pour ce pays qui m'attire de plus en plus.

Hello France,

Une très belle image ! Les lignes directrices sont multiples ici ! La rivière qui serpentequi au creux de la vallée, les bandes de neige sur les flancs de la montagne, et la direction suivie par les personnes qui marchent !
Tout nous mène vers le fond de l'image sur ce sommet et ensuite vers le ciel superbement bleu ! Une belle réussite !

Je te suis pas à pas dans cet autre monde qu'est l'Islande.Les couleurs du sol sont très particulières et comme tu as bénéficié d'une superbe lumière, le résultat obtenu est magnifique.

Salut France,
Au dela de son nom un peu special dirons nous, moi ce lieu me fait plutot penser a l'Italie, on dirait l'etal d'un marchand de gelati ! Heureusement qu'il y a la riviere et les trekkers pour me ramener a la realite. Faire demarrer la rivier dans le coin est un plus pour l'effet de perspective, et c'est toujours interessant de voir de belles couleurs chaudes cotoyer la neige.

superbe paysage, sans doute jauni par la neige qui a du le recouvrir jusqu'à il y a peu... Ça donne en tout cas de fort jolies couleurs...
