[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
Hveravellir is a geothermal area located along the Kjolur road which crosses the interior desert between the two glaciers Langjökull and Hofsjökull.

The most spectacular attraction is Öskurhóll, a howling monticule which spits its vaporblast in a furious whistle. This hot source is very rich in silica in suspension. At contact with fresh air, water cools and silica precipitates by forming notched terraces. The silica deposits ended up building a dome whose slopes are finely engraved.

I had already introduced you the "shrieking mount", under another aspect last year emphasizing his mouth bordered of sulphur and the blue hot source located in the vicinity.

This time, the sun was part and I wanted to underline by a back-light and a low point of view near the ground, fine geyserite concretions which decorate the slopes while making lose any reference mark of dimension.

Hola france,

Hello,
a very nice photo, luminescence of the light and colours and the detail of the small stone "ripples" on the geysir give depth and action. Also the background with nice clouds and another vent is appropriate. (Maybe is it, or maybe not, just slightly over-sharpened?)

Best regards, Kristof

Hi France,

I do like the story you are sharing with us and the nice composition you are sharing here! I especially like the build-up of your compo with the clouds and the steam in the distance creating a good depth. Something I don't like is the over-exposure on the right side of the spitting cone, in the wet parts of the side. It just distracts a bit too much... But I like your story and the composition!

Greetings,
Dennis

Salut France

Bien amicalement.
Michel

bonjour, france!

a marvellous sight and splendid presentation. the composition looks radiant on my screen as if the foreground formation was jumping at me. interesting how the smoke from the mound blends into the cloud formations in the sky. really, you have managed to lose any reference mark of dimension. excellent capture.

mi compliments y merci du partage

Very crispy image of a wonderful naturemoment. The clouds at the lovely blue sky add more beauty to the scene. The polarizer work very well here.
Best regards
