Photographer's Note
There were a lot of amateur actors following the director’s presentation before the outdoor summer performance – so I made the choice to introduce you too this young actress, not least for the fine light effect from the sun shining trough some trees in the foreground.
Hope you like this shot of the young girl – soon to become an actress in the play from the old medieval town inside the fortress of Fredrikstad, south of Oslo.

You are getting more at ease with your D70. This is a nice shot. IMHO, a tighter compo would work better. But that's just me.

Great portrait of this lovely lady, Jack. Nice posing resulting in this semi-profile kind of angle, fine colors supported by the play of sunlight, and good DOF. Very good this capture.

Nice portrait of a pretty person, Jack.
Of course, I would prefer more light on girl's face, but in that case she might get lost on brightly lit background.
One more advice - you don't need such small aperture whet shooting portraits. F/5.6 will be more than enough, and in this case you can lower ISO number = less noise.

Jack
One very classy lady, nice pose and the exposure for the skin colour very good for a dark-skinned person. Well done!

Seems like that 70-300 lens isn't able to do the job here. A very unsharp fokus and blured red color sweather. Nice girl though (but I guess we shouldn't credit the fotographer for her).
