Photographer’s Note
I took this photo at Cosmoston lakes in Penarth, Wales.I have set the brightness and contrast to +5 and +10. The saturation level is set to +15 in order to bring out some of the vibrant colours, I have also added some sharpening. The camera was set on white balance bracketing and between the three differently toned pictures I went for the increased compensation (+2) one, with a bit of a warmer tone.

Good overall result - nice DOF and well composed. Like the retracting leg!
Well done Jannie!

Yes, the leg is the best feature here; it adds colour and a sense of balance to the photo. The colour is rich and everything is sharply in focus. Great effort Jan!

Kwa-Kwa! :-)
Good DOF, cute composition with a duck that stands on only one leg! LOL! :-)
I do not understand your explanation entirely. You did that with camera settings , or ... you have done it with a software-PP?
Very well done Jannie.

NIce picture of the duck, nice compo and leg-up too. Maybe it can do with a little more space infront of her face, "to move in to" and defnitively a highlight in the eye, the flash will provide. Also, try and underexpose by 1/3 to 2/3 to get the white not to be so bright. And congrats on the D300, mant happy pix.
