Photographer’s Note

Here we have the side of the nave of the Fossanova Abbey with its buttresses. Earlier I had a shot from the cloister . It dates from 1187. It is one of the finest examples of Cistercian architecture in Italy and is the earliest. It is a beautiful complex in a very serene setting low gentle hills near the town of Priverno. It is one of the many important abbeys in Lazio but this one is not in active use any longer. The church and the buildings around its cloister are being preserved in a very austere fashion and the other buildings around it have been turned into shops and apartments to raise money for the restoration of this fine structure. This is the place where, in 1274, the great theologen St. Thomas Aquinas died en route to Rome.

Very nice shot Paul, although I'm taking it to workshop, I hope you don't mind, there is something that's bodering me about the angle ,I will try to fix it and post it back to tou. Gaétan

Very nice shot again Paul. I think that the upper part is a little bit everexposed.

You know,Your nice family name(indeed I like - Mastrogiacomo!) has an italian sound,hasn't it?!

but,the hsot has a fine POV,I like the way you composed the scene,in top of the shot I see that a bit bright level,but not important,seems the light was strong and I think you controlled it well,because the shadows parts are well,...well worked and very well composed,Paul!
