Arriving to Oslo Photo

Photographer’s Note

Arriving to Oslo at 7am. This is a picture taken from the ship upper deck during a cloudy and rainy day.

Oslo is at the top of the fiord of Oslo. The fiord lies to the south ( see my previous pictures). Towards other Oslo directions one is surrounded by hills and mountains.
Oslo is the capital city of Norway , and towards January of the 2003 they inhabit in her 517,401 people, 11.4% of the total population of Norway
Oslo was founded around year 1048 d.C. by king Harald Hardrade

I like the dark and dramatic sky, and the way the city stands out against the dark background. I also like the way you got the end of the ship in the photo, which gives this some context. Well done!

A very nostalgic picture to me. It’s a long time ago that I arrived by boat in Oslo for my first visit to Norway. No colours by than but Black&White pictures which I developed myself.
But this coloured edition is also very attractive.

Hi Emile,
I missed this earlier shot from your trip. The balance in this scene is superb, as we see the tourists gazing from the ship and feel at one with them is seeing all the harbour action from above. The buildings are colourful and clearly seen, with the backdrop of picturesque mountains. Despite the cloudy sky, the lighting is superb and there is so much for the eye to see. Very well captured, Emile.

Hi Emile - Nice to watch this arrival to the capitol of Norway - I tried it many years ago - but to bad diden't I get any shots - In these days was it 100 years ago a Danish prince became king of Norway. Thanks for sharing.

Desde el barco??? buen tiro largo de profundidad y excelente definición y luz apesar del clima. Con un vistazo se puede apreciar todo el movimiento del puerto.

I'm afraid you were not blessed with good weather during your visit to Oslo..!
Those clouds are containing rain and I think it is visible in a distance...
Still you have quite good light on the buildings, which are captured with good details!
