Photographer’s Note

Taken while on business in London for 2 weeks. I had the weekends pretty much to myself, enough time to do a wander-about and catch some of the sights- somehow, I always found myself back at Big Ben and Parliament.

Very nice, Dan, you caught just the right amount of blur on those buses. Great composition, too. The blue of the sky is a little unnatural, I wouldn't know why; it looks closer to a daytime color rather than a twilight cobalt-blue. But overall it works really well.

This reminds me of the effect you get if you've set your WB to tungsten by mistake. Whatever....I like it on this scene. I'm trying to read the time on BB. If it's 9.05 it shouldn't be dark ....Should it?
Love the movement of the traffic and the light reflected in the Thames. Well done

Lovely night shot of the Big Ben Clock Tower superimposing the bridge with the visual of fast moving vehicles.
I prefer to crop away the partly Parliament building and emphasis on the clock tower with the bridge alone, since the exposure is pretty good.
Try to reduce the contrast or brightness to improve the visual more artistically.

nice picture, London is a Fabulous city, i d like to visit it again and watch a football match and drink many beers on a good pub overthere, the colors are great.

Great night shot.I like the composition and point of view.Good reflections in the water.I like the light,sharpness and colors.I like the detail of the persons.Good contrast between the sky and the buildings.Good job!

Hi Daniel, A beautiful blue tone London evening scene. The signature London architecture Big Ben, Parliament is well seen over the bridge. A well composed picture with the perspective view of the bridge arches from left to right. The reflections of the lights are beautiful. Nice to see the shadows of the buses, which provides the imaginations of the busy London night life. A well taken picture.

I like the reflections in the Thames, the blurred busses which convey movement & dynamism in the city, & the superb warm cold opposition between the yellow & blue. Well done!

The reflection in the water is very clear, and the theme is great. I like the colors and the perspective. The big ben looks pretty, the speed to take the cars was very nice.

Hi Dan, you have managed to succeed in producing something unique of one of those 'photographed-a-million-times' places - which to me is the mark of a good photographer. I love the colours, the reflections and the blur of the buses, but am intrigued as to how you got the sky like that. Was that due to PP or the WB issue that Kath mentioned? Or was it really like that! Cheers . . . David
