Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

Three very different textures and colours in close proximity.

The closest is the wall of a farmhouse, the middle is the roof of an old cottage, the last is the tall spire of St. Mary's Church, all closely connected in the village of Piercebridge.

The three buildings abut a partially excavated Roman fort, which was once established here, and was probably the reason why this settlement occurred. In fact, most of the buildings in Piercebridge are situated on the foundations of the Roman fort, a reason why more of it cannot be excavated.

Have a lovely day, Bev :-)
