Photographer’s Note
I love ships - all sizes and all shapes. But to a lot of people ferries, especially the roll-on-roll-off (RORO)type, are the most uncharming form of boat floating on water. This is not necessarily true. Look at how dwarfed two big trucks can look standing on the deck of this majestic Pride of Dover leaving the port of Dover for Calais in France. And what can be seen behind the ferry is of course the real Pride of Dover - The White Cliffs.

Oh PSP9 - glad I never got the 8 - now can I jump directly to this new one :-)
A fine motif Per - I agree - theres some about ferries - I usually take a lot of photo on the ferries to Ærø.
I like the white cliffs as background and the "blast" from the engine of the ferrie - fine details you got here as well - thanks - would this be the first or last in a series of UK shots :-)

Nice perspective and a good close crop Per. This ferry certainly "fills the frame". I like the background too.

Per, very beautiful P&O ship, the horizontal lines, and the windows an the cockpit gives a excellent image, and the warm smoke above makes a great composition. Thanks for posting.

It really stands out from the background thanks to its whiteness and the foggy air. The truck are accompanied by some people to make the scale even more obvious. Where you also on a ferry??

This ferry sure occupies the frame, Per, and your tight cropping on all sides even emphasizes the impression. Good diagonal shooting angle to see the details of the vessel, and nice to have people and vehicles included for scale. Interesting how the setting with fog and steam make the background look almost desaturated. Good shot.
P.S. I think you'd want to put this into "transportation" rather than "architecture" where it was when I wrote this critique.

Ita a good crisp shot of this workhorse ferry and having the white cliffs behinfd it looks good.I am not sure what else was outside the frame but I would have prefferred to see a little more of the surroundings with the ferry being a little less cramped oin the shot.
