Photographer’s Note

What i learned from my travel book for Switzerland.

"Geneva is Switzerland's third larger city, but surely the most international. One third of population of Geneva is from elsewhere. They and the Genevois enjoy a city crowded with museums, busy with a rich cultural calendar and nightlife, blessed with a mouth-watering variety of international and local cuisine and ideally placed for excursions into both the Swiss and French Alps".

The Geneva "Jet d'eau"
(i copy from a sign there)
Every second,500liters of water are propelled into the air to a height of 140 meters.
The water is ejected from the nozzle at a speed of 200km/h.The two main pumps are driven by 500kW ,2400 volts electric motors rotating at 1500 rounds per minute.
After sunset the spray is illuminated by twelve floodligts with a totol power of 13,5kW.
Property of SIG (Servises Industriels de Geneve) who is in charge of its maintenance the Geneva "Jet d'eau" is operational since 1891 and was renovated in 1951.

What i saw,was a very beautiful city with very very kind people, who helped me every time i asked them with a smile. There only good things to say about my visit there! Thanks for the hospitallity!
This is the result of stitching together two images taken from the Geneva Cathedral.
