The first one of a small serie about shadows in the old town of Geneva.

Well this is a good start to the series. Very skillfully workout shot. Through the background into complete darkness works well to simplify the image and leave our attention with the main components.

He he, c'est marrant, j'ai d'abord cliqué sur l'image sans lire le nom de l'auteur et je me suis dit "Un Noir-Blanc avec un tel contraste et une telle lumière, ça ressemble à du Cool-ice".

Et bien mon intuition était bonne...

Bravo Yves, c'est du tout grand art ça ! Je me réjouis déjà de voir la suite de ta série sur les ombres ...

super in every aspect!! Surprising use of perspective and light. The bike gives an elegant equilibrium to the photo.

Superbe composition.
J'aime beaucoup le choix du N&B et l'idée des ombres.
Je sais pas si c'est mon écran mais l'arrière plan aurait peut etre merite un tout petit peu plus de lumiere.

Exquisite shot in B&W, Yves! Lovely shadows in diagonal and steps in FG that bring depth and dynamics in space. Simple details framed in a wonderful way. Excellent job!

Great shot Yves, this photo has character. The shadows are great and the autumn leaves give it a nice touch. Just a shame it's three people; two woud have been more powerful. Excellent anyhow.

Superbe n&b.
La compo est très bien maitrisée sur deux niveaux, ce qui accentue l'alongement des ombres des trois personnages.
Par ailleurs, et c'était le bur recherché, le sujet principale de la photo est bien les ombres.

Great play of shadows and light, Yves, in your signature style. Really a good timing in this one to have the three shadows fill the foliage-covered path below the foreground stairs. The hard contrasts are really great in this one, and do I really have to say "black-and-white"? A promising start for this series ;-)

C'est très beau cette composition, les lignes parallèles des corps, des ombres, et cet escalier en décalé qui fait pour moi une bonne partie du charme de cette composition, un moment très intimiste. Très belles tonalités de N&B, j'aime beaucoup aussi le fait que la lumière éclaire les têtes et les fait ressortir sur l'arrière-plan sombre.
J'attend le reste de la série avec impatience.

Bonjours Yves, the long shadows of this small group cast over the the nicely textured pavement really makes this shot. The b&w is ofcourse an excellent choice and there's also a story in the making...the group is talking & walking to the stairs, who are they where are the going. A picture that tickles the imaginaton. Excellent job.

What a great work in light/shadows and contrasts? You've created a very strong image with a feeling I almost call Gothic.

The fact that we don't see the background even if the light comes from there is an excelent detail.

The placement of the stairs is very, very well managed increasing the sense of direction and adding nice details and textures.
