Photographer’s Note

This is a shot of the Old Man of Storr on the isle of Sky.The Storr is a rocky hill on the Trotternish peninsula of the Isle of Skye. The hill presents a steep rocky eastern face overlooking the Sound of Raasay,The area in front of the cliffs of The Storr is known as The Sanctuary. This has a number of weirdly shaped rock pinnacles, the remains of ancient volcanic plugs. One of the most famous of these is known as The Old Man of Storr.

Impressive. The conversion into B&W provided your image with a superb level of dramatisation. To my liking, shadows are a bit closed.

strange landscape, we feel in a prehistoric time.
Atmosphere of "end of world" with the dark and menacing sky.
Good B&W shot, maybe a little too dark and lacks of contrast.

Amazing photo. I won't be original when I'll say that it reminds me Lord of the Rings scene. I love dramatic and dynamic sky - so many things are happening there! Also rock sliting the sky is perfectly set. Good B/W conversion.
