Photographer’s Note

As Bobocortis said, I've been touched by the hdr virus. If used in a good way it helps recovering pictures that are not particularly brilliant. This one was sligtly gray with heavy rains just in front of Urquhart castle.

Ciao Sabrina.
Niente, ormai sei andata, il virus è autoimmune (a proposito: grazie per avermi simpaticamente citato nella nota). L'immagine ha forse delle parti un po' troppo cupe (mio punto di vista personale) ma le figure in rosso danno moltissima vivavcità alla scena.

Sabrina,
This is a very attractive shot! The use of HDR (which I am not a big fan of) works very well in this instance giving us nice lighting and fine sharpness. Your composition is great with excellent using the pathway to lead the eye into the shot. The people add a nice sense of scale for the scene. The heavy rain in the background adds nice interest and contrasts the brightness of the castle very well.

Eh si il virus dilaga ... devo comunque ammettere che il risultato è senz'altro ottimo, le ombre che in genere crea l'hdr qui sono in perfetta armonia con l'ambiente e il rosso molto saturo è perfetto (anche se innaturale.

bella, bellissima, anche perchè c'è lo stesso tempo che ho trovato io quando ho visitato le rovine di questo suggestivo castello sulle nere acque del Loch Ness Storm over the Loch. Vedo che stai smanettando bene con l'HDR, complimenti!

Hello Sabrina,

A fabulous result with your Nikon D60. The colors and resolution are superb. I knew you were going to be in Scotland when we visited Florence, and I am glad you made good use of the trip.

(I am going to mail a copy of the new book, Leonardo's Universe, to the address you gave me. Is everything unchanged in the past couple of years?)

If used in a good way... questo è un altro mondo!
L'immagine è potente e suggestiva, una visione ed interpretazione "altra".
Unico accorgimento nell'uso dell HDR: cercare di non produrre immagini tutte uguali, proprio perchè contagiati dal virus, ma farne un uso appropriato.
