Very old fence post indeed, almost seems like it turned to rock. Nice colours and details. However, quite centered in this photo, maybe a vertical would be better and cropped on one site.

It needs a note!!! Where/what/how??? There's a fine line between leaving room for interpretation and making your art totally oblique, and you may have fallen on the wrong side of that line here.
As far as naming conventions are concerned, I'm very much a fan of purely factual naming.
Incidentally, it may well have been better to show the whole post, but you spotted it well.

Great subject, well spotted. But your 'straight' composition detracts a little.
A lower angle, with more of the post in the rule-of-thirds ratio, portrait, with just green grass and blue sky (no errant rocks frame right), and some pushing and we'd have a lot better image.
