Photographer’s Note
A standing stone at the site of the oldest settlement on Canna, A'Chill. There is a whole in the stone into which thumbs may have been pushed as a punishment.
Canna is a small island in the Highlands and once had a population over 400, but like most Scottish islands the population was greatly reduced when landowners cleared the islands. The population today is 24.
