Photographer’s Note
Flocking to the sea
Crowds of people wait for me
Sea gulls scavenge
Steal ice cream
Worries vanish
Within my dream
I left my soul there,
Down by the sea
I lost control here
Living free...
(Morcheeba, "The Sea")

You missd the shot from the botom, and the wires on the top.......say, that you clicked the shot ina split second, just concentrating on the motocyclist.
Even the left leg of the man on the righ side of the fame is also cropped.
The diagonal perspective only, can't make a shot outstanding.
Sorry mate, you havenot done justie to the shot.

Hello Robert,
That song fits SO well with this photo. It breathes summer, holidays, a rush of joy.
I love how the girl's skirt is blown up into the breeze...:-)
Greetings,

Hi Robert
Lovely POV and I like that you chose B&W. Could be a shot from the '60's

You like Morcheeba ... I sometimes take photos with their music in my ears. There is a lot going on in this photo, pretty wild and maybe the skirt of the girl reminds me of the 50ies although I have no idea how it was in the 50ies, this is just what the movies bring over and what my mother was wearing in this time when I look at old photos. For me there swings a wonderful beach mood with your picture and the flipping of the camera is just a side effect of the good times you get when walking at the beach. Good moment with the bike moving in and the slight blur bringing a little speed to the scene. Have a good weekend ... Barbara.

I have good childhood memories of the beach at Scarborough. That's where we went every year for our Sunday School trip. You captured a pleasant mood here with good light (evening?)and a pretty sky. I'm not sure about the tilt, although it places the summer lights straight in the frame.

Hi Robert,
I like this shot very much. Even the wires on the top. I think that they work as a frame. The blur motocyclist also looks great and adds motion. Splendid work!

Nice one, I like the 'tilt' and the blur - very well seen - I didn't realise you were back posting - glad you are :)

I really like the 'look' of your B&W conversions Robi. This one has a great tonality, and with the strong light and high contrast it has a lot of impact.
One or two little niggles, like I'd have preferred it without the lamp post coming in on the right, and if you'd taken the shot a second later when the motorbike was fully in-frame so that the roadsigns weren't behind the rider's head. Never mind, I really like the 'feel' of this shot, and the tilt works well too, adding to the dynamism and the sense of movement of the bike created by the slight blur.
Funny - it looks much more like California than Scarborough...
Good stuff!
Cheers,
Ben

Was the biker an heavenly surprise or did you planned it like that? in any cases, this is another very good one from yours. A stange mix of a family beachside and a route 66 feel. The well of light in the middle will get a good part of my praises, as the fact that characters are entering the photo from both sides, so there's no way to escape the frame.

I usually don't like tilted photos but it really works here. The composition is sort of unusual but I like. Its as if everything in the foreground is forming a frame for the background. The lighting is great and I love the biker.
