Photographer’s Note
A picture taken today from the same location as this one which was taken in March.
The spring and early summer here have been quite sunny but there has also been a good deal of rain which has given us one of the greenest summers for a while, with very strong growth. This afternoon, the weather was very changeable, with short bursts of rain between spells of bright sunshine.
Shot in RAW and converted and edited in PSE6.

Use of the stream as it leads into the triple bridge archway at mid-ground directs the eye nicely into the sun splashed grassland and finally toward the magestic mountains. Nicely done.

Very nice shot. The old stone bridge defintely makes the scene. It has a great timeless feeling with nice composition and nice light. Thanks for sharing!

Hello John,
What an amazing landcape ! You caught a very beautiful light on those little hills. The bridge and the beautiful cloudy sky add a lot, the whole makes a very nice photo ! Well done !

Hi John,
Really a fabulous photo. I believe everything is found here; a beautiful landscape, fantastic sharpness, excellent composition with the bridge in exactly the right place and of course the play of light upon the fields and hillside! Not much to add, this is one of your best pictures!

Hello John,
A timeless classical landscape - apart from some distant telegraph poles, this scene would have been just the same, and just as attractive, for painters two or three centuries ago.
The stream provides a fine lead in from the left, towards the little bridge -thrown into relief by the sunlit ground under its arches. The alternating bands of sunlight and shadow across the landscape lead us to the distant hill, and a lively sky.
Sharp, clear and perfectly exposed as always
Excellent!
Regards,
Peter..

Hi John
Another wonderful shot. I love the sun lighting up the fields and the menacing clouds. On my recent visit to the Borders I was amazed at how green and lush everything was.

Hi John,
This is a very nice, serene and peaceful landscape. It's breathing peace all the way. Fantastic colour treatment with excellent light over the greens in the middle. Those clouds may be to much, but for me the cream on the cake. No blue sky needed here, this is just perfect. One of your best shots here on TE..!!!
Have a nice weekend, Henk

Hi John,
Beautiful landscape with nice contrast in shadow & sunlight. The old bridge makes a nice focal point. Scenic field & grass covered hill top. Peaceful rural atmosphere with sheep dotting the field. Best Regards. Latiff.

Beautiful landscape. Try cropping out the small tree on the right and up to the water at the bottom and it would be a different picture - not necessarily better - but different. When I do this cropping, my eye goes to the bridge and stream first and then explores the clouds and mountains and back to the bridge and stream. In the present version my eye goes to the tree at the right then the bridge, then background, and last to water. A different experience.
