After saying last week that I had posted my last canal shot for the foreseeable future, I popped over to Hebden Bridge at the weekend for a social event and, although the weather was not sunny, just couldn't resist taking another shot of the canal! I quite like the shaded, grey sky, for a change.
This view is just a little out of the centre of the town but what I really love about this shot, is that it shows the recognition of the beauty in old buildings! This redundant mill has been bought by a person with vision and tastefully turned into modern flats.
The flats have the advantage of being relatively rural, no busy road nearby and canal views from the balconies. Could you just imagine sitting out on a warm summer's evening with a glass of wine! Sounds good to me!
(For more information about Hebden Bridge, please see my earlier postings.)
Many thanks for stopping by.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph.

The reflection is just great!
You were not blessed with good light, but you made the best of it under the circumstances. I like the shaded grey sky as well, but I do not like the white spot in it. I might have cloned it out of the composition. But it's the reflection that does it here for me!!

I think the cloudy sky works well here making the reflection appear a bit sharper.
Excellent clairty with wonderfully sharp details with the little bits of green making up for the cloudy sky.
I really enjoyed your canal series and seeing how beautiful preserved it is.

Sounds idyllic (as long as they are not affected by floods) It looks like there is one for sale; there's your chance. What really stands out on this image are the beautiful, pristine reflections in the canal. As with your others you have used the perspective of the canal to lead the eye. Well done

I like the sharpness of this image and the beautiful reflections on the canal. I like this type of architecture because is not very common where I live. Nice details and effective point of view. Thanks Bev.

Hello Bev, Another really attractive canalside shot, showing how these well planned conversions can be an asset to the locality. This building has a rather intriguing and eccentrically shaped portion at the nearest end. The grey sky is nicely in harmony with the surroundings.

Que magnifico reflexo deste velho edifício tem umas paredes muito bonitas com os tijolos de várias cores, gostei muito do céu ficou bem dramático com as nuvens cinza , bom ângulo de visão em diagonal , parabéns!!
