[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Sometimes the road is just not easy.
Whatever the reason, he is a homeless man.
A friendly man who I always talk to,
He sits alone watching life pass him by.

I told him I would print out a picture and bring it for him. That certainly put a smile on his face. But I worry that my interpretation of his sorrowful circumstance will not be well received. Nevertheless, I suppose the camera never lies. Good Luck my friend..

ps: the balck frame :( ... but nothing else ... really

:)

Hi Cass - tough subject matter, and quite a departure from your F1 series. I like the composition with the path leading off into the distance. The guy is well placed in the frame too. He appears very relaxed so there is obviously some connection between the two of you. Good conversion to B&W.

Excellent piece of work.

Best regards, Roberto

Hello Casper,
Very good photo with excellent dark tones. I like the choice of B&W and the contrast.
I also like the unususal black frame, but I would have separated the photo and the frame with a narrow white or gray line. (Matter of taste...)
TFS!
Best wishes,
Marci

Hello Casper,
The strong black and white tones fitting very much to the drama of this brave man...Your note and your conversation with him give me the sense that he will fight for his life and I hope good days come in the future for him...
Excellent as a photo and composition!

Greetings,
Thomas

Hi Casper,
no words needed to explain this picture as it speaks for itself; a great tribute to this man and a great capture for you. Just perfect the choice of the b&w. My only minor critique would be the black frame is a bit too heavy; I might have add a line of white between the picture and the frame, but that doesn't bother me at all. Great capture!
Regards,

Igor

Hi Casper,
well first of all thanks for the e-mail you wrote me and for your offer, who wouldn`t accept such an offer, thanks mate! I enjoyed reading your e-mail, I`ll reply to it tomorrow, but now it`s already late and I have to go to school tomorrow, so one last critique before going to bed. I really like this one, it has an unique feeling, the B&W looks perfect and the noise in the left part of the picture also adds a lot to the picture, a very nice shot of daily life, great job!
Oh, I see you have the lens I really want to have, right now I`m saving my money, I hope I`ll have it until my next trip to the US in August because it`ll save me a lot of money buying it there ;-) So thanks for sharing and thanks for your kind words.

Take care
Mark

Hi Casper. There is not much to be said about this one, it's a great shot and therefore it tells the story itself. B & W is perfect here and adds to the sorrowful mood. I don't know about the framing, but it caught my eye, and I don't dislike it. Check out some more wonderful homeless photos here: www.meyerandlewinsky.com Kind regards Jens :-)

I missed that one (to my regret).

Substancial photography ( to the very core of it ).

Stay cool, man

Hello casper. A hard picture from the lower social environment. I am the opinion that also these pictures have their authorization. In b& w you realized this shot photographically adequately. Good text. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hi Casper,
a strong subject that you treat with sensitivity. The B/W is the best choice, with good contrast and I like a lot your diagonal composition, the way the textures and tones go from very dark to lighter and the space in front of him. Lovely grain and you caught him in a very relaxed, if I may say so, attitude. Also you established a contact and that is not easy...one feels your concern. You looked at him and that is important...Excellent work IMHO.

Best regards
and TFS
Michèle
