Well, I'm nearing the end of my series about the canals in my local area.
My penultimate one pays particular interest to the narrowboats. These beautiful vessls are an important feature on the canals with their bright paintwork and individual adornments. They are the caravans of the water but, in my opinion, with much more individuality and attractiiveness. They are akin to the very old, horse-drawn gypsy caravans.
Here, you can see them berthed, or sleeping at the edge of the tow paths.
I have had a lot to say in my previous postings but for a very interesting, virtual tour of the canal, please click here.
Many thanks for your visit.
I hope you enjoyed it.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph.

one of the most classic view of England, with its beautiful canals and the coloured boats. You've done well here, with the bright red boat on the right making a beautiful spot between the reflections on the water and the green of the vegetation.
Have a great Sunday, regards

The boat's colors arise very well in the green of the landscape. A good depth of field for shows this landscape. Nice reflections in the water. I like the expression "Mobile Homes"

The red, white and blue of the boats contrasts strongly with the softer colours of nature.
Strong leading lines of the boats on either side of the canal, and of the towpath starting from the bottom right corner, give a fine sense of perspective to an attractive composition.
Fine reflections, and good shadow detail.

Bev, a great last look at this area. I think the green is a but under saturated but that is a minor critique, the composition is really fine and the focus is crisp. Only because I learned it here, have you thought of using a circular polarizer? There is enough dof to sacrifice the couple of f-stops it would cost but it would both saturation and contrast plus give you more control over how the water appears. No mater, it is a great capture.

A very pleasant composition.
All the elements are well placed to make an attractive shot. The blue barge on the right lead the eyes to the fields in the background, while the red one draws our attention at the first sight !
Colors and contrast are great, and the fine sharpness enhances the whole.
Very well done.

Hi Beverly, This image gives us a look at a typical English countryside scene on a beautiful summers day. I'm with Greg1949, regarding the polarising filter, but also enjoy it without. It is hard to be sure, as there are no horizontal or vertical lines, but something about it suggests a tilt downwards to the left, or it may be an illusion. well done. cheers, Steve

You captured a beautiful light in this photo, not only on the boats and water, but the side of the building and the foliage. It's nicely composed so the path on the right contributes to the sense of perspective. I like the glimpse of the sunny hills in the background, too. The colours are delightful and draw the eye to this shot immediately. I agree with the possible benefits of a circular polariser for a shot like this, or possibly a little under-exposure to bring out the richness of the more subtle greens and browns. Nevertheless, it looks great.

What is fascinating me by this kind of vacation is that you berth the vessel for the night, then you find the nearest pub within 100 m, hehehe!
The red is of course the eye-catcher in all the greenery, in this attractive composition with the sharp fine details...

The one is really sweet! with such clear rich colors seen reflecting beautifully in the calm waters of the lovely canal.
Excellent light management avoids over exposure to this wonderfully sharp detailed composition.
Love these colorful old canal boats.

A fantastic way to see North-Yorkshire, on a barge floating the canal.
Wonderful nature, nice green surroundings, and calm ambiance.
Well applied into picture.
Happy Easter holiday.
