Photographer’s Note

This is a photo of the Clyde Auditorium, also known as the 'armadillo'. It was completed in 1997 and was designed by architect Norman Foster. The armadillo is located next to the Scottisch Conference and Exhibition Centre in Glasgow.

Bonjour, cher Martijn,
Cet auditorium très contemporain est impressionnant par rapport aux personnages.
Le choix du cadrage est particulièrement judicieux pour donner la mesure de l'édifice.
Il serait intéressant d'assister à un concert ! ;o)

Hi Martin,

This is a great shot. I have seen many shots of the armadillo but I think this is the first that I have seen where the building dominates and fills the frame. The sky is good and the colours are great.

Hi Martijn,
Heel mooie en geslaagde foto van dit enorme gordeldier. Het licht weerkaatst heel mooi in het dak en de blauwe lucht daarboven maakt het af. Die mensen laten mooi de verhoudingen zien.

Dag Marijn,

Blij u weertezien, maar de school zal hier wel voor iets tussen hebben gezeten, want studeren en TE zijn geen goede bontgenoten.
De foto met de modern architecture past mooi in uw lijn, de gebogen spanten en de bekleding bestaande uit een lichtdoorlatende materiaal maakt dit beeld zeker aantrekkelijk.
Wat u eveneens mooi er aan heeft toegevoegd is het koppel beneden, dit geeft een mooie weergave van de schaal.
Goede foto, en liet laten misleiden door Z & W beheerders.

nice abstractive formation of the 'armadillo' construction,with the passing by pair to adds life in the scene.I like the contrasted colors and the brilliant light that floodlight the whole scene.Well done.

Martijn,
I never have seen any shot of this building and think it is quite fascinating. I wish there would be a more comprehensive shot as a WS to have a better idea of how it looks as a whole. Nevertheless, the tight frame witht he two persons walking by are a perfect composition. Obviously the couple makes all the diference by providing the scale to the building. I also think that you got it right with the couple's black dressing. Did you do a try in converting it to B&W?
