The Location

View of Black Down in Dartmoor as seen from Brentor on a dew-soaked morning in October.

The Image

I love the shapes of the wind-blown trees of the UK. I think that they look their very best at sunrise during the shoulder months when the valleys fill will mist.

Also used a 2-stop grad

Cheers!

Hi Bob,
What a nice scenery ! The composition with this "windy" tree and the valley is wonderful ! Such a beautiful light and atmosphere ! You caught it very well, fixing those soft and delicate colors very well. Really love your photo !
Marion

Hi Bob,

Great composition with the field boundaries leading down the hill into your shot. There's a nice gradient of colours from quite vivid by the tree to nice and soft down the hill. I like the pastel sky, and of course that fantastic early morning mist!

Very well done :) Casper

Hi Bob,
Wonderful composition with the stark presence of the wind-blown tree contrasting nicely with the delicate light and colours of the fields and valley in the distance. The play of early morning mist amongst the trees in the distance is lovely, but I also like the patchwork of sunlit fields in the midground and the line of the hedgerow leading down from the tree into the valley. Overall balance and atmosphere is superb.

Beautiful scene, I like the lonely tree, the green field and the misty horizon.
I have made a WS too--just another version...

Hello Bob,

Très belle ambiance dans cette image. J'aime beaucoup ce genre d'image ou la brume a pris possession du décor au sol ! Les petits murets envahis de végétation sont superbes ici.
A+

Hello Bob, a picture full of atmosphere.
The wind blown tree leads our eyes down to the hedges which then lead us to the beautiful mist which shrouds the fields.
You must have been there quite early to capture this scene.
I like the soft colours of the landscape contrasting with the silhouetted tree.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hello Bob

What a great panorama of this place...
Great morning mist in the background.Really great framing including the tree.Really beautiful.

I have seen the WS...it`s fine by me,not that I`m not into "pump" up the green, but I like more the original because that`s the way that should be,more natural...morning light it`s the greatest, but sometimes can be tricky.
Or maybe looks like that because of the ND filter...don`t know(never used one, maybe in the future).
Hope I didn`t say too many stupid things :-)))...just my opinion about it.

My kind regards

Hi Bob,
very nice composition, the misty atmosphere in the valley and the foreground tree make a good picture here!
regards,didier

Superb composition, and magnificent use of the morning fog :D
The colors are just great and the dew-sprinkled fields add a silvery sheen to the scene.

This looks very very familiar Bob. Different composition though - slightly to the right. It's amazing how a photo looks very different at different times of the day.

Well done

Graeme

Hi Bob,
What a great composition ! The tree on the left drives our look to this very nice countryside. The atmosphere is wonderful thanks to the mists.

Hi Bob,
I like this tree which bows on this so beautiful landscape. The mist which is not still completely gone away is magnificent and creates one very beautiful and sweet atmosphere.
Colors are full of poetry.
Congratulations.

Hello Bob,
I like this tree that inclining on the terrano passes us and this beautiful scenery full of mist, which gives him a marvellous ambience.
Excellent composition with soft colors and good details. Good work.

Hi Bob,

I absolutely agree, the morning mist and light are irreplaceable...prefect composition, strange atmosphere....well done! It breathes with the England country feeling...

Take care, Ivana

Hello Bob,
I am thinking you get up very early a lot as you seem to be out there tramping around taking these magical sunrise shots.
Lovely landscape shot and so well framed by the silhouette of the tree.
have a good weekend.
