Good Morning Everyone,

The weather in England is beautiful at the moment. I hope it is as beautiful where you are. (I'm sure you will have noticed how often the English refer to the weather. Without such conversion, we would be mute!)

Today I am posting a shot which shows the view we had from our host's house in the Lake District. I took this shot in the evening when we had just returned from a day's walking. The sun was low and we all know how beautiful that sort of light can be! It casts golden rays which can change brown to burnished gold and makes every ridge and ripple in the fiels visible!

The water in the f/g is a small tarn called Blelhem Tarn. We had, in fact, walked around it during the day.

The name Tock How refers to the the name of the farm on which we were staying.

Many thanks for your visit.
I hope you enjoyed it.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph. :-)

pp other than a slight crop & adj of levels this is as it came out of the camera.

Hi Beverley,
Beautiful soft light on this landscape, with beautiful clouds on top of the mountains. You framed it very well with the house on the right corner, giving a good DOF.
Thanks for sharing !
Marion

Bev, your shots always make me want to get out and walk. Not that I am a huge walker but I think I could be in these conditions. Color and detail are fine and as always you have chosen a good angle that makes the composition very enticing.

Greg

Yes, it is much the same weather here in Melbourne, actually - about 22 today and hardly a breath of wind. Of course, we are all wishing for rain as it is so dry.
Your shot has the trademark features that you have refined over time, with the sharper, higher contrast foreground, and the hazier, lighter background of hills under a pale sky. The lake makes a nice central feature, and I like the house partially hidden by the shaded side of the slope. Very pleasing rural scene with a nice, simple frame.
Regards,
Andrew

This is a really beautiful shot with very good lighting. Superbly framed too with good DOF. The composition works well. Lovely work.
Best wishes
Mark

Yes the light is wonderful, and where better than the Lake District to be in these conditions. Your high POV was perfect to overlook the tarn, and the mountains make a wonderful background. Well done

Hi Bev,
Wonderfully peaceful landscape you have captured here with the distant rolling hills shrouded in mysterious mist as they loom over the gentle valley floor and with its lovely lake and charming English farmhouse. A very soothing image that is seen in clear colors, details and sharpness.
Regards, Tom

Hello Beverley,
Such a lovely landscape, and the farm in front is a natural eye-catcher!
Spring is in the air but not dominating so far as the colours are marked by the winter...
Lovely details in this well composed postcard!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Bev. You certainly made the most of the light for this shot. I love the low cloud on the far hilltops and the many shades of brown, gold and green. Well captured and thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi Beverley, I love the Lake District but I don't get up there often enough, you have some beautiful photos of the area & this is one of my favorites, the landscape is pure Cumbria, with its rolling hills & the tarn in the middle, lovely spring colours & the low cloud finishes the shot beautifully, kind regards Wilson.
