Photographer’s Note
I have decided to re-post this picture because of the amount of distortion in the last one. I have recently bought a 10-22 lens and have been experimenting with it. I am still trying to learn the best way to use it! I hope I have managed to fix the distortion in this picture, and thanks to all those who made helpful comments on the last one.
The original note:
This is another picture in my 'Edinburgh at night' series. To be honest, I don't really have alot to say about this building. It's St Giles' Cathedral on the Royal Mile. I just like the architecture!
It was quite funny, while I was taking this picture, a lot of people walked passed and said sorry for getting in the way. I don't think it makes a big difference over 30 seconds! :-)
Please let me know what you think!

I think that it's incredible, Blair! I don't see any distortion in this one and the light is extremely good. I like the moon off to the side and the way the top of the Cathedral is illuminated. It is hard to get such a magnificent night time shot. You have managed the composition very well.

Very nice exposition, Blair! I like the magenta on the rocks contrasting to the beautiful blue sky! The architecture details are really great.

Hi Blair,
To be honest, I find the original view better, so no need for a re-post in my opinion. Nevertheless, it's still a beautiful night photo of St. Giles' Cathedral with a lovely blue sky as background. The golden colour of the cathedral's crown contrast wonderfully with that. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Blair,
Wonderful cobalt colored sky and nice use of light. The details seen look very nice. Especially the sky seen and the yellow illuminated bell tower look superb.
Best regards. Salvator.

There a matter of fact even 4 life-time tickets for the finder of the pig ;-)
Hello Blair,
Seeing the original i have to admit you did a great job here. The building looks much more natural and stands majestic and proud in your framing. Light on the entrance is beautiful, seems we all are invited. Light on top at the tower is also pretty good and makes the whole image really pleasant to look at...well done, a real improvement.

Hi Blair,
yes, you deserve the title Mr.blue hour! I love all of your shots, especially the blue hour shots. This one is great, perfect light and a great POV, the lights look amazing, just like stars (I already mentioned it in your other picture). I also really enjoy the light on the top of the cathedral. Well done!
Best regards

Bonjour Blair,
une heure bleue qui donne bien ici, même si le bleu parait un peu artificiel. L'éclairage du clocher et ses couleurs attirent de suite le regard et c'est bien car l'endroit en joli.
Presque pas de distortions, un grand point.
Best regards.
Daniel.

available light nicely captured, well done !
for me, the vertical lines correction should be done for minor changes. the correction is quite radical here ! but, you know, if i did not see the original, i'm not sure i would notice it, so that's well done ;)

Hi Blair,
What I found most interesting in this shot is how the coloured lights blend and mix to create very beautiful matured colours on the walls of this lovely building. The blue sky helped to hold everything in place for a unified whole. A beautiful shot!!
Best regards and thanks.
