Yep, the classic and I really couldn't resist ;-)
Starring: the Dugald Stewart Monument - a memorial to the Scottish philosopher Dugald Stewart.
It is situated on top of Calton Hill, overlooking Edinburgh city centre, and I really envy it the view. The monument was built in 1831 to the design of architect William Henry Playfair, and modelled on the Choragic Monument of Lysicrates in Athens, Greece. There are other Greek-influenced constructions on Calton Hill, such as the National Monument (when I saw that one, I felt as if I had accidentally apparated in Greece)
All the solid facts in this note come from Wikipedia. All unnecessary ramblings are mine ;-)

Hello Joanna. Charing image with the column hitting the sweet spot. Nice perspective from high angle with superb sharpness of the city. Well done and have a wonderful weekend. Jusni

Hello, Joanna -
Great POV from on high with the monument placed perfectly in the foreground. The city skyline is very nicely shown. I haven't been to Edinburgh in awhile, but the weather sure looks familiar. Nice work.

Hi Joanna,

I think someone posted a similar photo but from another angle on TE but let me congratulate you for this. its great depth of field very good contrast and excellent sharpness and POV. Very well done.

Sam.

Hello Joanna, great city landscape with excellent composition and POV.

Hello Joanna,
I have a lot of pictures from Scotland spoiled by the dull gray sky too. But your picture is full of lovely details, depth and contrast that make the shot interesting.
Best wishes
Romana

Witam Joanna,

pogoda nie jest dobrze!
Well, the datails are very sharp but it looks so gloomy and grey...and wet as well.
Polska has similar weather...but at least there is more green and in case of rain you can run into a kczarma for a dobry zurek!

ciao
Silvio

Hi Joanna!

Deep and sharp image in spite of too overcast weather. Very many details and objects shown, TFS!

Hej :)

Klasyk, fakt, ale ładnie pokazany mimo pochmurnej pogody (to pewnie tam norma ;) ). Podoba mi się to że nawet odległe plany są ostre i mimo szarego ogólnego nastroju tu i ówdzie widać bardziej kolorowe elementy.

Pozdrawiam,
Zbyszek
