Photographer’s Note
Duke of Edinburgh award system is an English award sponsered by the king (Duke of Edinburgh. This involves completing 5 stages. These are:
Planning an Expedition
Carrying out An Expedition
Doing a Physical Sport for 6 months
Doing a Skill for 6 months (i.e. playing guitar)
Doing service for 12 months (i.e. helping in a hospital)
There are three stages of the award Bronze, Silver and Gold.
The stage I am currently completing is Gold, the expedition stage of this involves walking 80kn (50miles) in 4 days carrying all equipment (tents etc) and food along with you and being completely self suficient.
The photo here is taken from the top of a that we climbed on the third day. As you can imagine we were all tired and due to the nature of the hill you could see a place which appeared to be a peak but when you got there it just went further up. We assumed after a while that we must have gone wrong because we should have reached the top by now!
This is one of the "Great" Yorkshire dales peaks and was one of the highest hills in the area we were currently in.
Hope you enjoy the photo.
Technical:
Taken using Auto Mode of Powershot A80, no flash, an exposure time of 1/500 sec and was taken at 13.09 in the sun.

I highly commend you on participating in the Duke Of Edinburgh's Award. Reaching your gold level is quite an achievement that you should be proud of.
The view of Yorkshire is very pretty. Although it doesn't fit quite into the rule of thirds (1/3 sky, 2/3 land .. or the other way around), it still is a great shot of the countryside.

Good shot, lovely landscape, you could do with a little more detail in the foreground to add some real dimension to the photo, Well done.

Nice view. The lines are nice through the valley. It also suggests one peak accomplished now a long track ahead. Or perhaps looking back at what has been covered. The colors are nice, too. Perhaps the contrast is a bit low. Playing with curves or auto-levels might enhance it, make it brighter and give it more depth. Good luck on your efforts.
