Cauldron Falls at West Burton in the Wensleydale area of Yorkshire, a scene once painted by the artist Turner.

I managed to get this shot during a brief period of quiet, just before a load of people arrived and started
jumping and wading round in the water.

Hi Leon,

Very beautiful scenery, great photo ! Thanks for sharing!

Well taken, very peaceful scene - good sharpness and colour too. Nice.
Cheers
David

Very nice shot Leon, with the waterfall well placed and sorrounded by the vegetation. The rocks in the fg are good to add depth and leading the eye towards the main character of the compo. Very nice to look at the silky effect on the falling water.
Thanks for sharing it.
Cheers,

Igor

Hello leon,
very lovely waterfall, excellent composition, good point of view and nice light, superb sharpness and depth of field, beautiful natural colors and very lovely exposure time. well done.
Angela

Hello Leon,
Looks very peaceful at the moment, though I imagine the falls must make quite a noise. I like the low point of view across the pool with the scattered rocks in the foreground and the glimpse of sunlight through the trees above the falls. Good exposure management bringing a senses of dynamism to the water. Very good clarity.

I saw this last night but was out of the green so I came back this morning. I have an image of these falls in my Dales travelogue. You have used a different POV which makes a change from the more classic view. I like the slow shutter motion blur on the water and the resulting small aperture has allowed all the fg rocks to be perfectly sharp. Good work
Kath

Hello Leon,

The water looks like silk!
I like how it is all swathed in greenery!
Very good use of the sharp rocks for f/g interest and especially interesting how you have used them across the corner.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Leon,
Beautiful place, wonderfully captured with the slow shutter speed that produced a very nice effect of the running and falling water. The sharpness, light and colours are flawless. I can't imagine that peaceful place full of people, but I understand that it is so popular considering its amazing beauty.
Regards, José.

Like this one Leon. I got told that 1/2 sec is the correct time for capturing a waterfall. He must have been a waterfall expert ;D
I can why Turner painted it as well. I suppose it means more to me being English that I am drawn to these scenes. Have a good weekeng.

Hi Leon,
Well controlled exposure in a difficult undergrowth situation, the slow shutter speed gave a nice silky effect on the falling water and colors retained their natural punch!

hello Leon,
beautifuly composed. The vegetation looks so lush that it is positively exotic!. Your composition gives the feeling that the waterfall will tumble right out of the screen onto my keyboard.

Bev

Hello Leon, imo rivers and waterfalls are quite difficult to take;here you have done a beautiful job.
I like your POV, it has contributed to a fine composition.
The sunlight just breaking through the trees and highlighting parts of the fall was excellent timing.Good sharpness too.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Leon,
is wonderulf, perfect, great, flawless ...
The composition with the slow shutter blurred water being off center is just right. You managed the sparse light extremely well.
Peter

Very impressive shot, showing the beauty of nature. Beautiful colours and contrast. Wonderful composition.
Best wishes,

Hi Leon,

Wonderful scene. I love your POV. A picture of the waterfall in back light is an excellent choice. TFS and have nice week-end!

Cheers,

Ulf

Hi Leon, visitors can be a pain sometimes but I'm pleased you managed to get this fine shot before they arrived. Good sharpness, especially in the foreground and a small aperture has given it good depth. For me you have just about the right amount of exposure, anything more and it would look like a big silk sheet....and I like your chosen perspective too. It's a super capture, congratulations and well seen.

Regards

Stephen

Hi Leon, A very beautiful photo of this stunning waterfall, you have softened the water superbly, the overall composition with the low POV has captured the area very well, nice framing, TFS, kind regards Wilson.
