[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Saltwick Bay in North Yorkshire, just down the coast from Whitby.

One of the reasons for my trip here was to try and photograph the shipwreck near the sea pillar you can see in the distance - called the Black Nab. Sadly you can only approach this at low tides, and whilst I was there high tide was at sunset and sunrise.

The seas were running high due to a storm, which made taking this photo rather wet and scary, although the long reach of the waves also resulted in almost all the beach being wet, resulting in these reflections.

Thanks for looking.

hi Benjamin
lovely colos. i feel the reflections are the USP of the image. i like the hint of dry stone showing in the foreground. is this image done in HDR?
take care
ciao

A very nice photo. The texture of the sand contrasts nicely with the rest of the photo.

A well done setting and use of details B. Interesting diagonal in the shore as opposed to the straight horizon line. Good use of the foreground, fine effect by the slow shutter.
Black frame, yes - but not necessarily that big..

Very good composition, nice use of wide angle shot. Forget about the shipwreck, this is a good high tide shot..
Regards
Miguel

hi benjamin, realy like the reflections and colours captured in the sand, although not keen on the heavy black frame

We know Black nab as the "sisters" there used to be three high pinicals but two have erroded into the sea. To see a picture of the wreck you wanted to picture go to "feather" she has one posted.
