Photographer’s Note

As the UK is slipping into autumn after what must be one of the wettest summers on record I've been browsing my back catalogue of images.

Spring was very promising, sunny days, and beautiful blue skies with loads of photo opportunities. I found this tree whilst out walking in April. Flowers are loved for their beauty, but trees in spring have a beauty all of their own.

I'm taking this to be a magnolia, the buds certainly look like magnolia buds, but if any botanist (which I'm not) knows any different..

Nice! The pastels stand out so sharp against the blue background. I especially like the thin wispy sheath o the top...the greens inside seem ready to burst out.
