[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We had spent several hours at Tate Modern and were walking along the Millennium Bridge towards St. Paul, trying to find a decent pub.

This photo shows Southwark Bridge and the City. The prominent building to the left, in the background, is 30 St. Mary Axe, a.k.a. the Gherkin. It was built 2001 - 2004 by the Swedish company Skanska.

The older builing in the foreground, close to the river, is unknown to me. I have failed to find any information on the web about it. Maybe someone out there could help me and tell me what it is.

Howdy Saxo!
Interesting old and new architecture, interesting ship. Original scene. Good POV and capture. Nice lightness.
Regards!

Hello Gunnar,
A fine cityscape with an interesting mix of architectural styles. Good idea to include the boat, which adds another interesting element and brings a sense of dynamism. The weather conditions were evidently not of the best but, nevertheless you have used the light to good effect to bring out the architectural detail.

Hello Gunnar,

A marvellous composition with all those architectural features combined. The old stone building with its classical design, contrasts beautifully with the modern buildings, which now are such a feature of the city's skyline.

The London bus and the riverboat are excellent touches. The boat in the FG balances the composition perfectly.

On the technical side, I think that a slight adjustment to "levels" - exactly as I did with the WS on your last posting, would give a bit more contrast and impact.

Regards,

Peter.

Hej Gunnar,
An interesting mixture of new and old architecture. The three highrise-buildings of very different styles give a dramatic touch to the sky. The colours of the bus and the boat break the generally brownish-greyish tone of the picture.
Trevlig helg,
Gert
PS Congratulations to passing 4 000 poins.

Hej Gunnar,
Typical London colours and also typical to see old buildings together with new ones.
Ha en Skön helg!
Stefan

Hej Gunnar.
Very different architectures in one photo. And you even managed to get the red London icon, too. There are so many details to look at in this well exposed photo. Good composition and point of view.

Regards
Per

Hej Gunnar,
En skarp och innehållsrik bild med många fina detaljer.
Hälsningar
