St.Johnís Episcopal Church at Ballachulish in Argyll, Scotland is situated almost halfway between Ballachulish Bridge and the village itself.
The Church still plays an important and vital role to many in Ballachulish and beyond, due to the burial ground that surrounds the church along with the church records.
It has many visitors from all over the world who wish to trace their ancestors and general family links to the area. The aim of this website is to heighten awareness of the plight of St.Johnís and offer a means whereby monetary donations could be lodged directly into church funds.

Very good photo, the better part of it is the color. I like this saturated colors, with the brilliant light. The contrast between flowers and cold colors of stone and mountains is great.

This is a lovey view with many attracting spots: the church, the flowers, the clouds and the burial ground. The colours a so rich and the panoramic side is a very nice idea.

Ideal spot for your final resting place. Lovely colour and i really like the panoramic crop.

A very good pov on that church. All colors are very nice on the composition. Flowers in foreground, colors of the grass, yellow colors in the cimetary. The little against the light in background give a good contrast with foreground.
A very well composed photograph, well done!

This is a fantastic shot. Your composition is great showing the flowers in the foreground while placing the church to one side so that the graveyard can be seen on the other. The surrounding landscape and sky make for a great composition. The lighting and colors are fine with excellent sharpness and DOF.

What a charming bucolic landscape ! This place is a small piece of paradise on Earth. A quiet restful setting to laze around peacefully and soak up the air of serenity. Technically, it speaks for itself. Just perfect ! No need to say more. I think I've found my last resting place ! (but the later the better...)

you make me feel really bad, when I see your gorgeous shots, I doubt I can ever reach the quality you are showing us. Wonderful scenery and great photo work. I have also browsed your amazing gallery at TN.

Hi Stephen. A lovely place where to rest one's weary bones. this composition is worthy of a painting- to be hung in a gallery for admiration. Splendid colours, light and mood.I love the strong sense of place and history and the natural beauty that you have captured. My compliments. Klaudio.

This reminds me a lot of the Church of the Good Shepard on the shores of Lake Tekapo in New Zealand. It has a similar shape and the setting is uncannily similar. Your blooming FG is extensively beautiful - the best part in my mind is the concise layers of purple flowers, yellow grass and collection of tomb stones, that really is a treat. The sharpness is exquisite; I hope I can achieve similar results when I finally get my hands on a 450D. The panoramic format really helps perpetuate the view here. Remarkable stuff!

very good POV. I like all flower's colors in this composition. The lighting and sharpness are excellent.
Very nice composition.

euryan (8432) 2008-03-05 15:51
Beautiful place. You really chose a great angle and composition to capture this church and its picturesque surroundings. The small little graveyard looks amazing with the yellow grass. The large version is a bonus. Great work as usual.
Cormac (26545) 2008-03-05 20:47
This isn't as dramatic as some of your other shots, but it is just as beautiful! The huge colour added by the flowers really brings this to life. I also like the way the church spire is matched by the mountain peak on the right side of the frame. Excellent work, as usual!
foozi (7101) 2008-03-05 21:37
Your photos are really superb. This one is really out of earth creation. Everything is on....
1. Dramatic sky 2.Beautiful and solid colours ( flowers) 3.presence of well placed natural elements- water, plants, mountains, sky etc 4. good vantage point.
to me its perfect.
Please forgive me if I say - the chapel need to move a bit to the left - rule of the third? but to allow the lake to be obvious.
but whatever, this is a real great pix.
dkeus31 (27733) 2008-03-06 7:08

Very, very, very appealing image set in a perfect panorama format. I love the colors in the foreground, the church mid frame, and of course the mountains and blue sky as a backdrop - a perfect piece of art! Great shot and TFS. Gerald

There isn't one thing negative about this shot, i cant find a fault, so so good in every way!
chawax (14906) 2008-03-07 10:09
Not the same style as your previous shots, but outstanding one ! The point of view is fantastic with this nice church beyond a lake and mountains in the background. But the most incredible with this picture are the colours. Never saw so many colours in a natural site, incredible !
Yffic (6106) 2008-03-09 0:55
I really like this shot: of course because you know that I love panoramas but also because of the perfection of the color, the luminosity..
It's really a nice picture.
luisafonso (862) 2008-03-09 14:22
So much to see here Stephen. Light is very good but the depth in this photo is breathtaking. It's so lively with so many details and colours. I love your composition and the setting itself. A real gem.

Hi mister Emerson, little adamburton in power,
this one is marvelous, i'm really speachless watching it and sometimes it's hard to find words, right words to express feelings and emotion when seeing such a majestic shot.
You really impress and amaze me.
