Photographer’s Note
This is my last picture of the beached ferry 'Riverdance' which ran aground near Blackpool in North west England during very rough weather over a week ago.
The craft has become something of a draw for people & the sea front was packed with on-lookers.
Today, attempts were made to remove the fuel from the stricken vessel
It took around five helicopters to evacuate her,but luckily no lives were lost during the ship wreck & attempts continue to re-float her.
Regards to all Trek-Earthers,
David.

Hello, what a unique scenery.
Actually, it is like what was said by the murderer who killed one of our french king Henry the 4th " He is even taller dead than alive". In that case, it is even taller lying than floating. What a huge mass of stuff. Nice shot.

Hello David - it is really unusual view!! I may say - beautiful landscape and great composition ;)
This ferry looks like dead whale on the beach ;)
I really enjoy this photo,
greetings from Poland - the place where ferries dock in harbour

First of all, the ship is very well positioned at the top left corner, letting us see all the people that gathered at the beach. How rusty is the bottom of the ship!
But, regarding the ship, this is an incredible picture. The ship really seems huge at this position, like limule said.
Do you have a link where we can see more information about this shipwreck?
Great picture.

Jürgen

Good shot of an interesting event!
I may have cropped the bottom centimetre as the sand is out of focus and doesn't really add anything, but your photo does show the scale of the thing really well.
Cheers

Hi David, you really do get an excellent sense of scale with the people on the beach. Again, very good composition with the ferry in the top third of the frame. A tiny bit grainy perhaps, but not disasterously so. Some close ups of the underside of the vessel may have been worth taking.
Good work - Roberto

Hi David,
Very interesting series of this surprising scene. I think the composition works best on thisone while you've done better on noise reduction on the latest.
It lays high on the shore and I can imagine how much work is needed torescue it. The crowd that has come to see this surprisingly appeared sight adds interest and sense of perspective.
