[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A hillside forestry plantation, after a night's snowfall with high winds. Taken from the other side of the valley. The tree trunks were coated on one side with packed snow and ice, which disappeared kalf an hour later when the sun arrived. The air was quite fresh, showing the delicate colours well. Iso 200, at about 80mm.

excellant vertical emphasis and patterns

Nice scene, Dougie.
I like the golds and greens with the snowy ground in contrast. I am amazed how perfectly straight all the trunks of the trees are and I like the white you can see on them. Pretty scene. Thanks,
Shelly

hi Dougie,

Marvelous meditative image .. I love the colors against the snow ... the lines almost create a texture .. the composer Ligeti coined this term micropolyphony to describe some of his work .. where there are such thick lines with so much going on that you perceive the whole not the individual elements ... like a rain storm .. anyway .. I really like it ..

take care,

John

Hello Dougie,
appealing composition with contrasts in low light. The thin lines of the tree trunks make this image even more interesting.
René

This is definitely one of my favourites, Dougie.

The patches of larch colour dance delightfully with the patches of snow, and the dark tree in the centre holds it all together.

Thanks,
Winifred

Hello, Dougie.

You might have forsaken dishing out points, but this one is certainly worth top marks, so deux points a toi.

The snow/ice has given a wonderful appearance to this one - when I saw the thumbnail, I thought it was heavy rain or sleet - and, as is your norm, the colours, exposure and sharpness are spot-on.

Excellent!

Kind Regards,

John.
