Photographer’s Note
This is a picture of 'The Devils Brow' - one of the few remaining cobbled streets left in my rapidly changing town of Darwen.
I don't remember the terraced houses that lined this area, or the gas works & railway sidings. But my parents do & my grandfather shunted carriages full of coal around here.
As to why this area got the name 'Devils brow' i can only guess that walking up this cobbled road was a 'hell' of a climb.
My regards to everyone,
David.

Hi David - good to see you back! Good documentary shot from your home town - who knows how long it will remain before being turned into more modern housing. Well chosen POV with the path and the steps leading off in different directions. Nice one! Best regards, Roberto

A lot too dark, mind you it does look pretty spooky with the trees on the right of the picture, the type of setting that would make for a good ghost story. Oh yes the gas works engine granddad used to shunt around is still in existence, its in a museum, at the top of the Keighley and Worth Valley railway, in Yorkshire.
