Photographer's Note

Une p'tite vue sur le centre de londres partie rive gauche prise depuis l'autre rive de la tamise. Le ciel était en train d'effectuer sa mue avant de vêtir son manteau bleu sombre puis noir.
Prise à 50 mm c'est ce qui donne cet effet "écrasé".

This is a view on London center (left bank) shot from right bank of the thames. Sky was about to mutate and dress up with its deep blue and dark coat.
Shot at 50 mm that explains why this compo seems "compressed".

Good color and lines to dazzle the eye. The contrast is saturated and sky is great, although I suspect over-sharpened?

Looks like quite a fanfare with all the colors and shapes. Compressed view is indeed very nice. Strong contrast adds much to the appeal. It seems as if you did some selective processing of the sky or the buildings as I notice some artifacts. Why f/18? Regards,

Bonsoir Sebastien - I rarely feel I can make any critiques of value on your photos, however on this one I feel that the dynamic skyline that you've captured would be much more suited to panoramic... then you could make it even bigger too ;) I know you would lose a bit of that beautiful sky, but in my opinion it would by more of a stand out photo that way. Qui dira après ça que Londres est toujours grise et terne ?! Grâce à toi, on la découvre métallique certes, mais brillante...
Le Swiss Re Tower me fait toujours un drôle d'effet mais elle a le mérite d'être un peu plus attrayante sous un ciel comme celui-là.
La parfaite qualité souligne les nombreux détails des immeubles de la City.
Très belle réalisation, bravo.

Wohooow, that's a beautiful chosen piece from the city, even when I saw it in thumbnails, that bullet-like building was the most dominant one, it's a great piece of new architecture. I'm used to see photos from London showing the old architecture, this is very different. Excellent sharpness and details, which are crucial in this types of shots.

There is now a big discussion in my country whether to allow modern architecture in the heart of Prague, even our president said that he would lie down on the ground, if needed, to stop building a new library according to Jan Kaplicky's project. Your picture reinforces my feeling that it is nothing wrong about the modern architecture in a city.

You were there in exactly the right moment between afternoon and evening - to capture this magic light.
I like the collection of all the different colors, the clarity, and the fine details in the buildings. The red/pink clouds are a very decorative background for this.

Another great shot of twilight on the city. The mix of light and colour comes out very well, and I like the balance between the sky and the buildings. Very intersting view of the city, with a skyline that reminds me of a mountain range. Excellent work!

rien de très particulier dans cette photo mais la compo en général me plaît bien... le mariage entre la tombée du jour et la vie active encore pour quelques minutes/heures !
J'aurais peut-être coupé un bout du ciel pour éviter cet effet écrasé comme tu dis.
